Maintenance is paramount

Good fundamental web design is an incredibly important part of creating an optimized and superbly functioning website. Why do you need a website that is ‘all that’? Well, to attract traffic and good ranking in the SERPs of course.
The entire purpose of a commercial website is to generate web traffic in high volumes. You also want that web traffic to lead to high conversion rates to boost your profit margins so your business grows.
Without a well designed website you can never hope to attract, keep and convert even a single visitor. However, good web design is not enough to keep your momentum going. You need impeccable maintenance of your website as well.
Maintaining momentum
A good web design will get you far, but after a while you will start to lose momentum. Web traffic may start to decrease and conversion rates may begin to drop. If you do not regularly do upkeep on your website in order to maintain it your overall appearance suffers. Why and how, though? Over time links and graphics become faulty and ‘break’. In other words, they stop working and this is a huge traffic deterrent.
The reason people come to your website is for information, not for a broken website. If your site is under construction, do it at the times of day when your web traffic volumes are at their lowest.
This will decrease the amount of traffic your website construction deflects to your competitors. There is nothing worse than finally finding the website you have been looking high and low for, only to get to an ‘under construction’ sign.
