What To Include In Your Website

May 21st, 2009 by

Your website is an incredible marketing tool and messing up that part of your internet marketing campaign can have far-reaching implications for your business. Not only will you prevent current customers from going back to your website, but you will keep potential customers at bay and they will spread the word of exactly how poor and non-user friendly your website is.

You will reach the majority of your target market through the internet and having your website turn people off through poor design and functionality means that the largest portion of your advertising fails. This is why correct and effective web design is so important for the survival and success of your business.

Success makers and breakers

Successful web design incorporates great imagery, vibrant colours, and catchy headings and of course, the high quality content you have on your website. What you should have on your website are appropriate pictures that make your customers sit up and take notice; irrelevant pictures will create a false expectation and can be viewed as false advertising. False advertising irritates customers and puts them off your website and your business for good.

Put only relevant information on your website. Information about other businesses and things that have nothing to do with your products or services will hamper your customers and delay their browsing through your website. This ultimately results in irritation and a lack of interest. Never put something on your website, be it animation, graphics or anything else, simply because you think it is cute or you have a personal fondness for it. Keep every aspect of your web design relevant to your business, services and products.
