Regarding to open source modification my view is that open source software is defined as one that can be distributed and used freely without paying a license fee to a company. Open source software is that in which the users have full control over the source code of any program delivered under open source license.

I agree with your open source modification view. In web development terms, open source versions of every platform exist. Open source control panels, server operating systems, and general open source code snippets can be found on the internet.
