Keep customers in the loop
August 13th, 2009 by Richard
When you are running a commercial website you are always looking for a conversion from traffic to sales among your website visitors. Now, keeping your customers informed is a great way to keep them coming back to your website when you have new stock.
Keeping customers in the loop may not be the easiest thing in the world, but in making it easier for them to stay informed you are guaranteeing yourself future sales. Making life easier for your visitors starts with your web design. You need to include certain things into your web design that will help your customers stay informed at all times.
Information station
One of the most popular ways of keeping up with current information is through an RSS feed. Offering your website visitors an RSS feed is a great way to make it easier for them to receive new information about your website or business. They don’t even have to come to your website to get updates on your blog, product launches and more.
Some of your customers will know nothing about RSS feeds or simply don’t use them. Allow these people to easily bookmark your website. You can use conventional bookmarking tools and social media bookmarks for a wider reaching appeal. The third way to gain valuable information and always keep in contact with customers is through email. Offer opt-in mailing lists that your visitors can subscribe to.
This way you have the opportunity to market to them using various internet marketing methods for months, if not years, after their initial visit to your website. And again, an email newsletter takes the information to them, they don’t have to come looking for it.
