If you have a blogging section on your website and write for it regularly as part of your SEO you will definitely have experienced the dreaded writer’s block at some point.  It is imperative that you understand how this common phenomenon can be overcome so that you can continue to write excellent and relevant articles that keep your customers coming back for more.

When writer’s block does strike the best approach is to go back to basics and take time out to consider why you began writing the articles to begin with.  What were your main goals and what did you want to achieve?  Most importantly, what did your target readers want from the articles?

This will normally help the light bulb to switch back on and help to create some new ideas for writing.  If this isn’t the case then your next port of call is to look at the latest news and look for news items that are relevant to your website.

Once you are armed with a topic you can start to plan out the article either on paper or in your head.  This will ensure you create the most effective piece.  Use the plan as a summary of the content and expand upon the ideas from there.

When writing the remaining article, employ a pyramid structure.  This involves writing about the most important point first and working back.  This method should help you to develop an article that is appropriate, structured and guaranteed to sustain your readers’ interest.
