10 Very Minor Grumbles About Yahoo! & MSN
January 10th, 2008 by Click Consult
If I was God, here are 10 slightly annoying, time-consuming things I would change about Yahoo! and MSN right away:
1. On Yahoo!, there is no way to find out the average position of your ads at an ad group level. You have to click on every ad group individually and wait for the ad group to load to find out if your ads are in a decent position or not. If you have a large campaign with hundreds of ad groups, this becomes a pain in the bum!
2. Cost per Conversion data and Conversion Rate data are not shown in the MSN interface. You have to waste time running a report or trying to remember how to work out percentages from your old GCSE Maths days!
3. The Yahoo! bulk upload sheet. Holler if you hear me!
4. The following Yahoo! bulk upload sheet error message: “Unable to determine which ad group is the parent. Please check the ad group ID and ad group name.”
5. The old classic – no more than 50 negatives per account on Yahoo! and MSN.
6. Ads cannot be paused in MSN. Their only status is active or deleted.
7. You cannot see stats for ‘This Week’ and/or ‘Last Week’ in the MSN interface without, once again, running a report.
8. You cannot edit multiple ad group bids in one go on MSN. If you have 100 ad groups in the account, you have to go into all one hundred to edit their ad group level bids.
9. No equivalent of AdWords editor on Yahoo! or MSN to allow you to make wholesale, blanket changes quickly.
10. On the MSN interface, if you have more than one campaign, you cannot see the total spend and stats for all the campaigns combined.
