Raise Your PPC Periscope
July 28th, 2010 by Laura
If your PPC account has enjoyed relative success and high conversions you may be tempted to sit back and relax. You may also have become internally focused concentrating mainly on monitoring the confines of your own campaign and target audience, forgetting the bigger world of your industry. This can be a huge mistake and unbeknownst to you your competitors may be closing in on your searchers.
Here are a few tips to help keep your PPC account in top condition:
Get a handle on competitors
You need to be vigilant with competitors. If you take your eye off the ball you can guarantee they will get a step ahead. You need to make it your business to know your competitors business. What are they doing not only within the PPC sphere but also what are their wider marketing efforts? You can easily become blinkered by the PPC world, but you need to know if your main competitor has started running offline campaigns designed to build awareness and drive potential searchers to their PPC ads. You may find that your results are being affected directly.
Be an industry expert
It’s a good idea to set up Google alerts for your top keywords and to keep informed of industry news. You may see a large spike if there is a big increase in interest in your industry – alternatively it could plummet if there is some bad PR. Keep ahead by considering how industry events may affect your PPC accounts.
At Click Consult we are experts in PPC and internet marketing and can add value to your PPC campaigning.
