How to Run Successful International PPC Campaigns
Running a PPC campaign in a foreign country brings its own problems and makes for an interesting challenge for any PPC Campaign Manager.
You could just run your campaign in English and target the relevant country – if this country was Australia or the USA you would probably have a lot of success just using your existing UK/English campaign. If you tried to target Spain, Germany or Italy using English keywords and adverts you may gain a few new customers but would more than likely end up with high CPC’s and low conversions. Ultimately an English language campaign in a foreign language speaking country is doomed to failure.
The second (and best) option is to translate your keywords, adverts and website into the native language of the country you are targeting. This brings its own challenges however as some keywords just don’t translate well into foreign languages. The best performing English keywords might not necessarily be the best performing ones when translated into Italian.
