Do we really need PPC managing agencies?
Do we really need PPC managing agencies? It's a very simple question, but what is an answer?
I suppose any growing business at some stage of its life will consider an option of going online. Actually, our days there is no other option if you want to be known and be taken seriously.
Online advertising will give an opportunity to be visible and receive traffic that you won't get otherwise, and considering today’s office and retail areas costs, at the end of the day it might be a cheaper option.
Let’s say you want to be there and then now. In this case Pay Per Click model will give an opportunity to have an ad displayed within a few minutes on top positions. But how are you going to do it? Will you do it your self or call for a help to PPC agency?
I suppose if you have time and patient you could manage it yourself very well.
Google as a leading PPC engine provides a very good information regarding its campaign building and managing techniques. In case you do have a problem or a question you can always get in touch with Google team who are very helpful.
If you are going to choose an option of going to PPC managing company- be ware.
Many of the companies, even google qualified, not necessarily will give results that you would expect:
• Even perfectly built campaign not necessarily will perform better than an armature one.
• Some companies even won’t do any work on your campaign at all, apart of attaching it to there client centre and charging you fees.
• The extra management costs that you are going to face (which is around 10-20% of total budget) maybe crippling and can cut a big chunk of your profit.
• Many agencies aren’t doing any optimisation work on campaigns, which are left to run on its own.
• Some major camping components can be missing, as nobody was bothered to make a proper keywords and negatives research.
• Communication may create another issue- is there an account manager that you can talk directly to, does he understand you objectives & limitations, is there is an account access and reporting options.
Don’t get seduced by PR machines of PPC agencies companies, as PPC can be you greatest success or biggest disaster.
Before you make a first step into online advertising:
• make a good research about your industry in order to have a some sort of picture about future costs, as some industries are going to be costly and in this case SEO maybe a better option.
• Read Google manual. Your may find it interesting and easy to use and hence decide to run a campaign yourself or in-house, as it’s not a rocket science.
There many companies how outsource their PPC accounts due to lack of time and expertise, but is it a cost of extra hundreds or even thousands of pounds a month really worth it as results sometimes aren’t that great?
