Always Forecast Your Search Volumes before starting PPC!

I recently attended a sales meeting with the aim of selling Click Consult as the leading provider of PPC services in the UK. My Sales Director and I were amazed that the client we were pitching to had not had a forecast of the potential volumes they could expect to receive for their PPC budgets from any of the other agencies pitching for their business. We had of course provided a forecast as we always do for clients wanting us to manage their PPC marketing for them.

The forecasting of potential search volumes may be seen to be difficult for other agencies but we see it is a vital part of the pitch process. The recent improvements made to the Google Keyword Tool have certainly helped us to provide accurate figures when forecasting. This new tool provides pretty accurate estimations of likely search volumes with information based on an average of the previous volumes for the past 12 months.
