A higher percentage of searchers will click on PPC ads than the natural listings:
September 26th, 2007 by Nick
Recent press articles reveal that only 20% of searchers will click on the PPC links. This is astounding to think that this is true considering the amount of money that the top three search engines make from the links. However I must admit that before I worked in search I very rarely clicked on the sponsored links, maybe because Click Consult weren’t managing as many sponsored links as they are now!
However, Sponsored Links do work – the stats speak volumes. I love stats, because you can’t argue with them, they are fact. Conversion rates and volume of conversions from PPC are so good. Data from Google Analytics on all of my clients show that when natural listings are as equally positioned as sponsored links, 65% of my traffic comes through PPC. So if 20% only comes through on average for the recent study conducted, do my stats make our company far above average for PPC management?
Regardless of the above comments, PPC can certainly not be ignored. It is arguably the best form of marketing available at the moment because you get such good value for sales and such good volumes of them. Now that Click Consult does SEO in addition to PPC, we are able to devise some superb strategies that maximise the return on the marketing investment (ROMS).
