Will Facebook Drive MSN PPC higher?
The recent change in the layout of Facebook probably annoyed a lot of its users but not the ones who work for Microsoft. The PPC giants deal with the online social networking site was boosted when Facebook changed their page design and could yet make a small dent for MSN in the ongoing PPC war being waged by them on Google and Yahoo.
If you are a Facebook user (personally I have lost interest since the initial hype when the site was launched about a year ago) then you will have noticed that the number of ads shown to you when navigating around the Facebook site have doubled. Ads shown by Facebook have moved from the left to the right of the page and are more visible when using the website.
As half of these ads are served by MSN the potential money to be made by them and increase in market share against Google is phenomenal. Facebook is used by so many people that these ads are sure to popular amongst consumers using the site.
Its up to us PPC Campaign Managers to take advantage of this and use Facebook for something productive rather than for adding people you went to school with as friends and never talking to them!
