Get Listed Locally
March 4th, 2010 by Laura
These days, online consumers not only want to determine what’s available to them, they want to be able to access contact details, directions and customer reviews with one click. As over fifty percent of consumers use search engines to research products and local businesses, there is a need to ensure that your business is well positioned to be competitive.
In many cases one of the most effective ways of accessing a local audience is to use PPC campaigns in combination with geo-targeting and local business listings in your internet marketing campaign. Regardless of what the user is looking for, if you are visible in both the ad space and local listings you will seem to be a reliable option.
Geo-targeting
This allows you to advertise in specific geographic locations. There are a wide range of locations to choose from, whether countries, cities or even a certain mile radius around your business. The next step is to use geo-specific keywords to the PPC campaigns. These are keywords containing the locations, but also allow any searcher to view them regardless of area.
Local Listings
Bing, Google and Yahoo! all have local listing centers that allow you to set up your business details. A good option however is GetListed.org as this allows you to set up all of the search engines in one place. You can also monitor reviews and keep an action plan of things that will ensure your listing ranks better.
Once you have entered the company name and postcode you can view an overview page and see how many search engines have claimed your listing.
At Click Consult we can help you to set up your pay per click campaigns.
