What Are PPC Engines And How Are They Used In Pay Per Click Marketing
December 29th, 2008 by Alan
PPC engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN can be defined as any website that includes adverts with links to other websites.
The most common PPC engines are search engine websites but many content websites also have PPC advertising, usually advertising something related to the specific page that a user might be on.
Choose the best engine for your needs
Search engines remain the most popular platform for PPC marketing campaigns due to the well targeted traffic, the visitors being directed to your website searched for specific keywords related to your website, the conversion rate into sales are therefore higher with advertisements on search engines.
Another benefit from advertising on search engines are that your ranking is increased making your website more visible and increasing your presence on the web. Most search engines display the results of PPC adverts above organic results, encouraging users to visit your website by selecting the top results.
Apart from the large international search engines, there are many trade specific smaller search engines that might secure you ‘better targeted’ traffic. Smaller websites are usually less expensive to advertise on and might offer you better value for money. Many companies use multiple PPC engines for their advertising as studies have shown that many Internet users search on several websites.
This will increase your visibility dramatically as repetitive viewing will make the clients become more familiar with your company. Internet users are more likely to purchase from a company that they are familiar with and being more visible on multiple websites will therefore not only increase your traffic but should positively affect your conversion rate.
