An online press release is one of the most powerful publicity tools available to you because the power of the internet is virtually limitless. An online press release can be far more powerful in gaining good publicity than its printed counterpart.
This is because online press releases transcend all nationalities, races, age groups and country borders. In essence, an online press release is your ticket to the most widespread publicity you can get. But before you dive in blindly, there are a few things that you need to know and consider before writing anything.
Know your readers
You need to seriously take into consideration the target audience you want your press release to be read by. You need to write in a style which suits your target press release market and make your language and jargon applicable to them but at the same time, not discounting other readers by filling your PR with niche terminology and technical language. What message do you want to get across to your readers?
Keep in mind that you do not want your press release to sound like an advertisement, keep it interesting and newsworthy, yet formal and objective in tone. Your press release needs some serious substance and value. Nobody wants to read something that does not offer them any benefit for doing so.
Do some research about writing press releases or to make it easier on yourself, bring in a professional internet marketing company to do it for you. They have the experience and knowledge to write and distribute press releases effectively. Keep yourself updated, by researching online, with what people want from an online press release and what they hate about them so you don't make any basic errors.
Take all of this into account before typing a single word.

Good report here, I bookmarked it. I use press releases in order to get a backlinks for my articles. I discovered that not all online PR services are the same and not all are just for news. Publishers, journalists, bloggers and webmasters are all fishing from the same pool.
