But there are some methods which will virtually guarantee your press release will not get the distribution and exposure that you need.
Mistakes to avoid at all costs
If you use blatant sales speak then you have already failed, as this is simply not appropriate for press releases. You will be rejected from all good distribution portals immediately and your press release essentially won't ever see the light of day. Get someone who has in-depth knowledge, i.e a good internet marketing agency, to write your press release. Their professional press release copywriters have experience in what the correct tone and format of press releases should be, and are adept at researching your business and industry to ensure that it reads well to industry peers.
If you think that your business is not big enough to warrant online press releases, you need to change your mind fast. You are losing huge internet marketing opportunities by not doing press releases. Press releases are an important marketing tool. Never bend the truth to try and vamp up your press release. This will turn into a disaster as you will be found out and you do not want this type of publicity at all.
Lastly, press releases are results driven, do not be conned by press release submission promises as although they could submit your press release to many others, if their channels have no relevance to your industry or target market, you will be wasting your money. Go with a submission service that has a proven track record.
