Conversational + Factual = Ideal Press Release Tone
November 17th, 2008 by Click Consult
Writing press releases requires a very specific type of tone as well as a very high quality of narrative voice. Impeccable grammar and spelling are also highly desirable and if you struggle in any of these respects then you might want to consider the use of a professional press release writing services to guarantee results. If you do intend to do the writing yourself then you need to offer the right tone of voice to your prospective readers.
You can use a conversational tone because this is the most appealing form of writing for the reader to consume. However, do be careful that you don't become too informal in your choice of language or grammar because this will not be appealing to your readers and may well lead to your submission being denied by the directories that you submit to in the first place. While conversational is good, lazy or just plan incorrect are definitely not good so find the right balance to enjoy the best results.
Press releases need to include cold, hard facts that are supported by equally cold and equally hard evidence. Without this support for your content, readers will have a tendency to disregard a lot of what you say and other publishers and journalists will have no desire to use your content if it means that they also have to do research to fully check your facts – they might as well write the whole piece from scratch if this is the case.
