Using Online Press Releases To Improve Brand Awareness

October 20th, 2008 by

Brand awareness is a highly desirable trait for any business, including websites and online businesses. With increased brand awareness comes greater customer loyalty, improved conversions, and more customers but developing brand awareness can be a challenge in itself. One way to help improve awareness of your website or specific brand is through the regular submission of online press releases.

Online press releases are similar in many respects to their paper based counterparts. A newsworthy topical piece can include contact information at the foot and the head of the piece. Good press releases will be picked up by other websites including news sites and news wire sites, and those sites that operate specifically within your industry.
Not only do press release submissions allow you access to visitors to those sites, but they can also appear in search engine results. In a lot of cases, press releases tend to appear high in search engine result pages because the press release directory used is considered an authoritative website by the search engines. This means a greater chance of your press release featuring high up the rankings.

Press releases have many uses, and improving brand awareness is one such use. The more often potential customers are exposed to your brand the more likely they are to remember it. In turn, this means that should the need arise for your product or service they will instinctively, almost subliminally think of your brand above others. Brand awareness is not an offline specific business tactic and using online press releases can help improve your online brand awareness.
