Online Press Release (PR)

Online Press Releases And Optimised Landing Pages

One of he big benefits of online press releases is that many distribution and publishing services include the option of adding one or two links into the contact section. Interested readers are able to click on this link and visit the relevant page on your site but unless this page is fully operational and properly optimised to benefit from this new source of traffic, your online press release campaign may not prove as effective as you had hoped.

An optimised landing page should be relevant to the content of the press release. If you are promoting a new product or service then ensure that you direct readers to the relevant page on your site that pertains to this. Also ensure that the content on that page is well written, relevant, and ready to convert.

Press releases are used to drive traffic to a website and may not always contain much information related to your site, product, or service. Consider the press release content and how much information your readers have and then direct them to the relevant step in the marketing and sales process on your own website.

Driving traffic straight to the sales or shopping cart page for an item may not be the best option available to you. Similarly, driving visitors that are already armed with a reasonable level of information to your home page may convolute the process to a level that deters many visitors from proceeding. The Internet is a convenient tool but has led to many of us expecting the information we want to be presented immediately to us.
