Never Give Readers Stale News
May 15th, 2009 by Alan
If a press release gives stale news and information is has failed and the only value it has it to annoy readers. The primary goal of a press release is to create a centre of attention for anyone that reads it. It has to be newsworthy to keep readers reading on. Why do people use search engines to find anything? They want information; they want to find out facts that they do not already know.
This means that your press release must describe your services, your business or new products that give readers what they want to know. Definitely not something they already know. What is the primary function of daily newspapers?
It announces newsworthy facts that are fresh or things that people want to know more about. Your online press release must do exactly the same or it will simply be ignored.
What is newsworthy?
Newsworthy is when you announce something that is totally new, whether it is a product or service. It is also newsworthy if you tell readers about a new characteristic or feature of something already in existence. When you describe or tell readers about something that they did not already know, it becomes interesting and newsworthy.
It is most important that the topic of your press release is about a current trend or something that is being highlighted in the news at the moment. People must be able to relate to the topic of your press release.
A current issue that the readers care about creates immediate interest. Incorporating these aspects into your press release is a sure-fire way for people to sit up and take notice.
