Watching the Hour-Glass When It Comes to Internet Marketing

January 27th, 2009 by

Today time is an important commodity, even an asset to some, and wasted time is no longer tolerated, so it is very important that you consider this in your internet marketing campaign.

Don’t waste Time

It takes time to find information; searches can turn into hours if people cannot find the information they need.  People tend to scan instead of reading each and every bit of content.  Taking for granted, or assuming that people can disseminate all the information presented to them quickly is a mistake.  So too is presenting your business in only one light, or one level as this does not provide the information needed for interaction and promoting your services.

You have to give your customers what they are looking for by getting to the point and providing the most important information first.  This way they will find what is important to them quickly.  Concentrate on what your product or services will do for them and how it will save them time or money, or both.  How will it benefit their lives?  Don’t concentrate on bells and whistles, trying to impress as people only have a limited attention span.

Once you have garnered their attention, then you can move onto spotlighting your company.  Start by explaining what your company is all about and if they are truly interested they will investigate further and prolong their stay on your website and you must be able to provide reliable information in logical and efficient ways through the use of links, articles or subscriptions.

A website takes time to turn a visitor into a customer, build relationships and for an individual to become familiar with you, but it takes a second to lose their interest for good.
