It is not an unusual question for companies to ask whether it is possible to market globally and locally at the same time. Yes, it is quite possible to do this, but this has to be done effectively for it to be successful. It is also not advisable to try and do this on the same web page.

Many companies that trade nationally do their SEO targeting locally as a campaign. This by no means mean that they stop their global and national marketing campaigns. Instead, they integrate the local marketing into their overall internet marketing strategy. It may sound complicated or impossible, but if you go about it logically, it works well.

Take it step by step

The first thing to do is to select the target keywords for your local level marketing. Secondly you have to select those target markets that you wish to explore. Next comes the building of landing pages. You have to build a landing page for each market you had selected. You need to use a set of keywords for each of those pages. Then you market those pages to drive your targeted traffic to those landing pages.

It sounds straight forward, but it will take skill to do this successfully. On one hand, you will compete at the global level for specific keywords. On the other hand, you will do so for the local market that you are targeting.

Doing global and local targeting simultaneously takes time, expert knowledge and money, which is why most companies prefer to bring in a reputable internet marketing agency to devise and implement effective strategies for them.
