How to Use Email Marketing Effectively
Email marketing is different from traditional marketing, so that the literature which worked in traditional forms, may not work on the internet. It all boils down to copywriting.
Content
Make sure your subject line is short and to the point while delivering your message. You want to make sure that it grabs attention and entices people to read the rest of your email. It should be personal and not be too formal. A person needs to feel that you are talking to them and not a mass audience.
The content of your email should be simple and to the point, nobody wants to wade down pages and pages of information just to get to the gist of the message, only to find that it is not suitable for them. A rule of thumb is under 300 words in total.
Avoid spamming. A very high percentage of people say that they receive too many email offers, and not only that, but they don’t have any relevance for them. This promotes irritation and an unwillingness to communiate with you the next time you land in their inbox.
Your email needs to point and steer people to your website, where you then have an opportunity of getting people to do business with you. To do this you must ensure that they have a reason to visit your site and a reason to buy your product, so instead of thinking of your email campaigns as sales medium, think of them as a way to offer service to your clients, build and maintain relationships and ultimately entice them to buy something from you.
