Email Frequency

The frequency of emails will help determine how well your email list works for you and is one of the big questions asked of email marketing services. The honest answer is that it depends largely on your own circumstances. If you have genuine information, new products, and more offers released every week then it may be viable to send a new email every week.

Sending emails too often will deter many leads from using your service and will often result in a lot of list members unsubscribing from future communication. While regular emails will help to promote a brand, sending too many emails in too short a space of time will annoy many recipients and it should be avoided.

Emailing too infrequently will have an equally damaging effect. Email marketing campaigns are at their most effective when recipients still have your website in the forefront of their mind. Emailing too infrequently will mean that many readers will have forgotten about your site and will almost certainly have forgotten why they opted in to receive further communication from you.

Regular emails help to build a clear picture of your product or service in the reader's mind. You will inevitably have many readers that regularly ignore emails, open and close them without taking action, and choose for one reason or another to opt out of your list for future communication. Rather than being disheartened by this you need to continue managing your list and providing genuinely informative emails with the right frequency.
