Give Your Email Marketing The Appropriate Voice

Email marketing allows you to deliver your marketing message straight to the inbox of your potential clients. As such, it offers a personal route to the screens of your readers and gives you the opportunity to really take advantage. It's important to consider the most effective marketing messages and how to deliver them under these circumstances.

Business and personal emails have one thing in common – a relevant voice. Effectively conveying a message is only a part of your battle and by adding voice and character to an email you can improve conversion rates and other performance statistics for your email marketing campaign.

The voice or character of an email needs to match the recipient and the type of service or product you are promoting. If your email marketing list consists of businesses and professionals then you should use a businesslike tone. That doesn't mean that you can't inject a little personable voice into the message as well but professionals will appreciate a professional approach.

Personal emails can be used to market to individual consumers. Business to consumer email marketing often uses first names and a friendly and amicable voice for all messages. This persuades readers that you are friendly, instils a level of trust before they even visit your site, and generally starts a B2C relationship in a positive way.

The voice of an email marketing message can prove as important as the actual content of the message itself. The wrong voice can be an instant turn off whereas using the most appropriate voice for the circumstances will help improve conversion rates.
