Conducting Test Email Marketing Runs
Email marketing campaigns give you the unique opportunity of being able to conduct a test run before you send out an entire email campaign. Few other forms of online marketing, or any type of marketing for that matter, allow this advantage and you essentially have to optimise your marketing efforts as you progress while also relying on tried and tested methods and techniques. This makes email marketing quite unique in its opportunities.
A test run takes a small subset of your email list and then sends your email marketing message to members of this list. You should also include several free email addresses that you have registered yourself in order that you can determine whether your emails are being delivered to these domains. A test run can help identify any major problems that you might be experiencing in various areas of email marketing. It can also identify whether or not your email or IP address has been blacklisted or blocked for spamming.
There is no reason to be blacklisted for spamming if you partake in ethical email marketing. However, if you consistently and regularly send emails that are blocked by specific email filters then you do increase the chances of this happening. In the same vein, if a single ISP continues to block the emails you send because they believe your message is spam then you once again run the risk that all email addresses associated with this ISP will treat your email marketing messages in the same way.
