Building Your Own Email List With Capture Forms
When it comes to creating an e-mail marketing campaign, having your own opt in email list provides you with a highly targeted and potentially very profitable resource of subscribers. By managing your list and working to increase the numbers of subscribers that opt in to receive communication from you it's possible to sell to your list members time and time again rather than trying to convert them when they visit your site as a one off action.
A capture form is a form on your website that is used to harvest email addresses. Typically, it should include a field for name and email address that visitors can complete, as well as a tick box that they tick in order to receive further communication from you (the opt in part of your opt in email list).
In exchange for their details you will need to provide something of value to your readers. Simply asking for a name and email address is unlikely to yield any positive results. Email newsletters, e-courses, and email series are among the more popular and often beneficial methods of capturing details. While newsletters require regular writing and sending, it's possible to offer a series of emails using an autoresponder.
There's no reason that you should only use one capture form on your website but each attempt to gather lead details should be accompanied by a genuine and useful product or item whether it be physical, digital, or informational. Some of email marketing has been taken over by RSS feeds but, again, there's no viable reason not to offer both features because you can still use both lists to help your online marketing efforts.
