Email Deliverability

When you create an email marketing campaign you imagine that you create your emails, press send and all the emails are opened by the recipients and are read. Unfortunately this is not the case. The two main reasons why emails aren’t delivered are bounces and anti-spam measures.
An email that bounces will normally be returned to the sender with a message saying that the email has not been delivered. This could be because there is a technical problem with the email address or perhaps it has been typed incorrectly. Sometimes there may be a technical fault with the connection and this again will result in an email bouncing.
Anti spam measures are now more prevalent than ever. Unwanted spam emails are such a common annoyance that there are now measures set up to stop unwanted emails getting through to recipients. The anti spam mechanisms in place are not perfect and sometimes identify genuine emails as spam and either delete them or put them in the junk folder. The outcome is the same though, your recipient not reading your emails.
It is important to be able to track your emails and to find out how many of your emails are being delivered successfully. Remove any email addresses that bounce from your list. It is important to only email recipients that have given permission for you to send communications. It is also important to only email recipients with useful and interesting content to encourage the opening and reading of your emails.
