Images Make Your Email Newsletters More Attractive

May 4th, 2009 by

Human beings are very visually oriented creatures; something similar to monkey, see monkey do. But you have to attract monkey’s attention first before monkey does. This principle, simple as it may be, is very applicable to the way people react to things on the internet.

Many companies invest a lot of time and money in web design. This is to make sure that they attract prospective customers and keep them for longer than a few seconds. If you spend so much effort and money creating a fantastic website then why sabotage that success with a deadbeat email marketing campaign?

Visual impression

Apart from the sender and subject title, the first think that strikes most customer viewing their email is the imagery. Nobody is going to pay much attention to a plain white email with plain black writing scrawled across the screen. Unless of course that email comes from family or close friends, that is. Email marketing, however, does not come from close friends or family.

For this reason you need to make a great impression with the graphics used in the email to grab and keep your customer’s attention. This does not give you free rein to stuff your email newsletters and advertisements full of pictures that have nothing to do with the message of the mail. The best option is to choose tasteful yet striking pictures that have a connection to what the email is about.

These pictures will grab your customer’s attention whilst giving them an idea what the email is about at the same time and in the future people will associate these images with your products and business.
