Even if SOPA is passed, it will be very difficult to implement. Do doubt they will try to catch big names such as Google, Yahoo etc, to scare others away. But Google can point the blame to others and who can even blame to others until it goes to the poor guy who owns a website which is not meant for any kind of business but still has some copyrighted content. Is it going to work? I don’t think so. It’s like no more free information and again it will be like only rich can afford to gain knowledge.

User Perception of a website is important, in University I did an Analysis User Perception of Trust.

Poor Design of a Website, bad colour schemes, and extra large paragraphs are found to have a negative effect on the users experience.

Ideally modern websites should be table-less, this makes it easier for screen-readers to read the text for disadvantaged users.

Use Alt= with the name of the image or object.

When using jQuery or HTML5 with CSS3… always bare in mind compatibility with older browsers. While your page may look beautiful in the newest Google Chrome, it may not display at all on IE6.

The best way to succeed is through trial and error, you carry out your initial research and produce your press release. Before you publish it, you might want to present it to some people in your target audience, take on-board the feedback they give and revise the press-release where necessary.

Then once the press-release has been published (do what this article suggests), you monitor the traffic you are getting, which buttons are clicked (if its a website). Then continue to improve on future releases.

It is time consuming, but certainly worth the effort.

Great post and I guess it should have been expected that Google was the top visited site of 2011. I think they’ll invest more of their time in 2012 for Google+ to try and really give it status similar to that of Facebook.
