The posting or hosting of links on neighbouring websites is so that the website whose link it is can increase their exposure. But the host website also stands to gain. As the host website you earn a percentage of each sale that result from your customers “clicking through” to the other website.

So, all of this is fine and dandy but how do you make sure that you do get paid for each and every sale your customers provide your affiliate website with? A good internet marketing agency will be able to manage your affiliate campaign for you. The most preferred and the easiest way to track your referrals is through cookies.
The cookies will attach themselves to your customer’s browser and will let your affiliate know that the customer is your referral once they reach the order page. You, as a host website, may only receive a small percentage of the sale but it accumulates to a nice extra income.
