Is Guerilla Marketing An Effective Form Of Affiliate Marketing?
September 16th, 2008 by Click Consult
Guerilla marketing is a form of affiliate marketing that requires greater input in terms of time than finances. Many websites and other online ventures have benefited greatly from the use of less mainstream marketing techniques, not only in terms of cost but because they can also provide a means to access visitors and readers that might be otherwise difficult to reach.
The term Guerilla Marketing was first coined in 1984 and has found a home in Internet marketing because of the accessibility of the techniques used. For those involved in affiliate marketing there are many techniques that can be employed and while some may require large investments of cash for albeit good returns, other methods rely more on imagination and effort.
Since its introduction, Guerilla Marketing has become especially popular with small businesses and websites that operate on a limited budget. The website owner that is willing to put in the time and research necessary can generate good levels of interest for their own business without having to break the bank. It does, however, have its limitations and larger organisations are less likely to benefit.
The best affiliate marketing techniques are essentially those that prove the most effective. Obvious though that may sound, many would-be entrepreneurs continue to use ineffective affiliate marketing techniques because they have read that they are the most effective and beneficial. Use various marketing techniques with your own site in order to determine the most effective and track results so that you can continue to improve your affiliate marketing.

Guerilla marketing is cheap. At the high end, you may end up investing a few hundred dollars in promotional items or a major, centralized price that you can build a number of different campaigns around. Guerilla marketing is specifically tailored to meet the needs of small businesses, whereas traditional advertising venues are complicated and expensive to the point of exclusion.
Guerilla marketing requires a great level of dedication and energy than traditional advertising venues, which often consist of throwing large amounts of money at other people to do the work for you. In addition to growing your business, guerilla marketing involves networking, both with your customers and with other businesses.
The best part of using various guerillas marketing tactics is most of your competitors are not using them. Why are they not using them? Because they are afraid to try something different! They like to stick with the common forms of marketing. Guerilla marketing can be associated with words like: innovative, imagination, strategic, ROI, undercover, stealth, targeted and low-cost.
