Just as you are confronted with different flavour choices when entering an ice-cream shop, so too are you confronted with different flavours of affiliate marketing. Choice is something people like, but it is also something that must be taken seriously. You need to make sure that you choose the type of affiliate marketing that will best benefit your company or business.
Compare and decide
You have three basic types of affiliate marketing. You can choose from paying per click through, paying per action taken or paying per sale. Pay per click is a popular flavour of affiliate marketing. You pay your affiliate marketer for every time a customer clicks on a link that takes them to your website. This can become costly if you target the wrong audience and advertise on the wrong affiliate websites for your needs.
The second flavour sees you paying differently for certain actions that the customers take. You may pay more for a customer that generates a sale for you than one that simply browses your website but does not purchase. You may pay your affiliate marketer more or less according to the actions of the consumer. Lastly you may choose to only pay for what you get.
This means that you only pay commission for every sale that results from your affiliate marketer’s referral. A certain percentage of your sale then goes to your affiliate marketer. This can prove very cost effective, especially if you are trying to appeal to a very broad target audience. Affiliate marketing as a great way to make money if you are an affiliate marketer. It is also a vital way of getting your business out there on the vastness of the internet as a business owner. Bringing in an internet marketing company to run your affiliate campaign is a great way of making the most of your budget, as they have the knowledge, experience and resources to make it as successful as possible.
