What Is A ‘Call To Action’ On A Website?

(No Ratings Yet)

The main purpose of a website is for it to work. If it’s an eCommerce website it needs to sell products and be successful at doing so. If it’s a brochure website it needs to gain enquiries for your business, tempt users into filling in forms and sending you emails, or convince people to pick up the phone.

What a commercial website is not is a piece of art that looks good and serves no other purpose. For this reason you need to be sure that you have a clear ‘call to action’ on your website so that visitors know what they need to do in order to contact you or purchase items.

Sometimes with web design, designers don’t like things to be obvious. Some web designers like to be abstract and create designs that make the user think. This isn’t going to help you to gain enquires or make money from your website, though it might win the designer some kudos with his peers.

A website that doesn’t feature a clear call to action such as a telephone number with clear instructions to call, or a contact form that is easily accessible from your website, won’t receive as many conversions as it should. If your website isn’t converting, it isn’t working for you.

At Click Consult we know how to design a website that not only looks great but also receives a higher conversion rate due to the clear call to action methods we use.
