posted on: September 29th, 2009

There’s no doubt that in today’s day and age any business that wants to establish itself as a reputable business has got to have a decent web page. A web page gives a full account of who you are, who your company is and what areas of expertise you operate in. A web page is crucial to building rapport with old and new clients alike. So how do you go about planning, designing and launching your website when web design is not your field of expertise? The answer is that you do not. We have been involved in web design for the better part of this last decade and have built incredible websites for our customers. As leaders in the field of web design we are able to present you with the latest technological advances to further enhance your website and the traffic that you generate to your website by advising you on what these new and upcoming technologies are. We know that traffic generation is not enough but that it needs to translate into sales. Design a web to catch the fly The very same way that a spider will spin a web to catch its prey, a website has got to be appealing enough to draw the customer in and then convert them from a browser to a buyer. The correct web design will do wonders to creating a visually appealing yet sales driven website that will increase the rate of conversion from browsers to buyers. Should you wish to employ testimonials on your website as an added arsenal to your sales pitch then these are the kinds of features that we will consult you on and, if given the go ahead, we will build into your website. Check out our examples from past and current clients and give us a call today.

Web Hosting Glossary Terms: Dedicated Server

posted on: November 3rd, 2008

A dedicated server, as the name eludes to, is a form of web hosting that allows an individual or business the complete use of an entire server. While a VPS offers a lot of the same benefits it still only offers a partitioned portion of the physical server for each account but a dedicated server, sometimes referred to as a private server, offers the complete physical capabilities including the storage capacity of that server. A dedicated server is the ultimate in web hosting allowing for the installation of any software, the storage of any files or documents, and complete control over exactly what happens on that server. Dedicated servers are usually leased on an annual basis allowing the added benefit that the physical unit is maintained by the data centre owner or the web host as well as the fact that there is no need to find the storage space with appropriate climate for the storage of your own server. You can also usually gain access to a new server on a regular basis or have your existing server upgrades as part of the dedicated server package. A dedicated server will not usually prove necessary except for the very largest and most populous of websites or those that require the complete security that can be offered with a dedicated server. The majority of websites struggle to use their storage capacity on a shared hosting account and for those that reach these limits, a VPS is the next step up.
