Different colours, different messages

Colour is a very powerful communication tool on the internet. Cyberspace is so congested and so busy that visuals go a very long way in getting you noticed. However, what they get you noticed for is entirely up to you and your web design company.

Part of this is the colour factor. Every website needs to take colour into consideration and you need to know how to use it to get the best results. Professional consultants will be able to advise you on the best colours to use for your audience, products and your business on your website.

Mixed messages

Certain colours are associated with certain things. For instance, red is associated with warnings, danger or flagging attention. You can use this to your advantage in highlighting text you want to stand out. Many people often associate blue with things like trustworthiness. If you begin or end your sales pages with the colour blue, it should encourage prospective clients to trust you more.

Green is strongly associated with money by many. Words that have to do with selling, buying and ensuring the security and confidentiality of customers’ private payment details do well when highlighted in green. It is also worthwhile looking at neon colours in websites targeting a younger audience.

Neutrals do well with older audiences and the websites they are more likely to frequent should make use of those colours and tones. Colour is a powerful tool to use in getting an important message across subliminally or in the text copies of your website.
