Cutting edge or over the edge Web Design

Today the world runs on anything and everything that is hip, new and happening. This means that everything needs to be as modern and up to date as possible. The same goes for your web design. If you are not optimizing your web design on a regular basis and updating it then you are lagging behind the rest of your competition and choking in their dust.

You don’t want that, you want to be seen as cutting edge and innovative.  So how do you go about making sure that you do it properly but don't alienate visitors with too many features they are not used to or don't understand how to use.

Too little, too much, just enough

Balance is the ideal when it comes to anything in the world. Anything that you can put the word “too” in front of is bad for you. That includes too many features and too few. You need to aim for just the right amount or as near to that as is possible. Creating the perfect innovative website is a delicate process and your success will be down to good planning. Stuffing your pages full of new fangled features, gadgets, gizmos, tools and the like won’t add any benefits to your web design – just confuse your target market.

It will detract from it and create something that is unappealing to visitors. Don’t go overboard. Think carefully about what effect you are trying to create by adding specific features. Work towards the effect and don’t go into a feature adding frenzy, there is such a thing as way too much. You also need to consider using older technology instead of simply hopping onto the newest bandwagon.

Older technology is user friendly to a wider spectrum of browsers and users. Older technologies where applicable will actually help you reach a far wider target market than some newer stuff and a prefessional web design agency can help you make the most of all your ideas.
