Web designing uses a wide variety of programming languages. User-friendly software packages are available allowing those without the technical programming language knowledge to construct a website.
However, these often use excessive codes and will result in an inefficient website with glitches. Thus, when it comes to web design one must still have some basic knowledge about the various languages, which may be used in websites.
Programming software
Everyone has their preferences and needs when building a website. So be sure to research the different types of languages which best suits you and your needs.
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is easily one of the most popular and simple web design languages allowing the coding of simple pages. However for more impressive and dynamic appearances on your website other languages are available such as PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), ColdFusion, Java Server Pages(JSP) and Active Server Pages(ASP).
PHP is popular as it can be integrated with HTML codes and focuses on web development, processing data and producing dynamic web content. ColdFusion allows web page creation from contents, which are stored in databases.
JSP allows the manipulation of website content through servlets, which allow the modification of data on the webpage, on a server before finally being displayed on a web browser. ASP has additional scripts to the normal HTML codes and is powerful as all platforms and applications can used it.
Finally, various programs have been developed to assist the web designing process. Dreamweaver supports major scripting languages. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop can be used to design artwork necessary for website. SmartFTP allows data transfer between a computer and a server.
