Template Web Design Vs. Custom Made Web Design

Website templates are available for sale online or as software packages. Some templates are even offered at no cost online. Custom made websites involves hiring a web designer to build a website according to your requirements. Both of these options have their advantages and it is necessary to determine exactly what your needs are before a decision can be made.

How to choose what will work for your company

The most obvious benefit of custom designed websites is that they are unique to your company and will be designed according to your specifications. These websites are usually more search engine friendly and can be optimised better in order to attract more traffic to the website.

If your business is heavily reliant on business done online this might be a good reason to choose a customised website. Companies that will need special features on the website should rather opt for a customised site as they can be successfully built around your needs.

Should you wish to expand your website at a later stage it is wiser to invest in a custom website with CMS from the start as templates do not offer much space for expansion.

Another important factor that should be taken into account is your skill level when it comes to the development, coding and maintenance of websites. Should you purchase or download a free template you will need a reasonable level of skill.

Calculate the cost of getting this information and the time that you will spend on building a website and weigh it against the cost of custom designing a website to make sure that you are choosing the best option.
