Broaden Your PR Horizons

posted on: February 25th, 2010

When you think of press releases, you probably imagine... well, the press. The media were, after all, the original targets for all press releases. This perception has hung on since press releases made their way onto the net. Although online press releases are now a standard feature in the online marketing arsenal, many businesses are held back by their narrow perception of press releases. You have many opportunities with an online press release, and it's a downright shame not to make use of them. Designing your online press release to appeal to only the news-making set is targeting less than a quarter of your possible audience. One of the great opportunities the internet provides is its audience. Not only is each audience group much bigger, being unrestrained by geographical location, but the number of audience groups you can access on the net is much bigger as well. Another opportunity the internet provides is the chance to make online press releases out of any material you desire. Although most of the content on the internet is text-based, this doesn't mean that you have to restrict your online press releases to text forms. An online press release can be in video format, podcast, or a PowerPoint presentation. Even within the traditional form of a page-based press release, computer technology gives you the opportunity to embed interesting elements. The multimedia available on the net opens up many new avenues for press releases. If you're interested in broadening your horizons with your press release, talk to our experts at Click Consult.

Long-Tail Keywords And Your Online Press Release

posted on: January 19th, 2010

It may sound like a dinosaur, but long-tail keywords are the rising star of the search engine community. For many years, search engine optimisation techniques have been based around single, or at a stretch, double keywords. As people start to use more and more words in their searches, companies and search engines have been boosting long-tail keywords in their techniques. It's a smart idea to include some search engine optimisation techniques in your online press release. One of the goals of your online press release should be to bring in traffic to your site, which will then put you in closer touch with your customers. Search engine optimised press releases work on distributing themselves by achieving a higher ranking for their keywords, and also work to support your site. This means benefits all around. Strangely, long-tail keywords can sometimes be easier to include in the content of your online press release. Some long-tail keywords just flow naturally into writing. For example, a long-tail keyword for this particular article could be 'including long-tail keywords in online press releases'. As you can see, this apes the way the subject would naturally be mentioned in the text. Other long-tail keywords are harder, as they are assembled according to what the searcher believes the search engine will look for. Finding the long-tail keywords for your site and press releases can be a part of your regular keyword research. If you're interested in exploring your keyword options, contact us at Click Consult.
