How Do You Know If Your Emails Are Effective?

posted on: November 30th, 2009

Creating an email marketing campaign will take a lot of hard work and experience to be successful. Even though you have been successful in capturing a visitor’s name and email address, you have to work hard at keeping it. When you have decided that your emails are attractive to your intended audience and will be of value, the frequency then has to be determined. If emails are delivered too often, this may be seen as a hard sell and repel the reader. Eventually, after your frequent emails have been clogging up their inbox, they may decide to unsubscribe from your mailing list. That subscriber will be lost to you forever. On the other hand, not enough emails may mean that you don't get a chance to build a reputation or a relationship with the customer. Again, your infrequent emails will eventually be ignored. When an email is delivered how do you know if it has been opened, read or just deleted? Imagine trying to keep track of all this data when you have built a list of thousands. A good email marketing company has the software and technology to track your email marketing campaign and give you results to help you build an even more productive campaign. Here at Click Consult we have the technology to advise you on the best frequency to deliver your emails and also provide you with statistics to help you build on the results.

Subject lines that will help ensure your emails are read

posted on: August 25th, 2009

Email marketing carries with it valid concerns regarding spamming and virus infections but a lasting hot subject of industry conversation is how to get emails opened and read.  Subject lines have the power to either turn people off or reel them in.  a good subject line is worth its weight in gold and can make the difference between trash and sales.  So, what is it that gets people to open emails?  Here is a list of what are considered power words that when included in a subject line can increase the possibility. •    Party •    Free •    News •    Sale •    Holidays •    Update •    Week Variations of these words do not add to their value and in fact can be viewed as aberrations which work in the opposite way and may even trigger filters which will result in having your emails moved to the spam folder.  This will effectively kill any chances of increasing click through rates and scupper this internet marketing technique before it even gets off the ground. What matters? What does matter is if email recipients know where the mail is coming from, so you can make great inroads if you remove any hint of anonymity.  Something else that is considered taboo is to include an attachment with a business email. Keep your subject lines short and clear.  Make sure they are capable of grabbing attention without tumbling off the subject box.  Once your email subject is decided you can get down to the business of working on your click through rate by means of your content. With poor content you may find that your first email gets opened, but subsequent ones won't, so finding content which works as well as a subject line is vital in the success of this form of online marketing. Split testing is showing benefits in helping find best subject lines and is simple to do.  You need to select a product you want to test and send it out with a variety of different subject line.  Three should be sufficient.  You can then compare the data coming back and ascertain which one performs best.
