Search engine optimisation is an impressive tool in many ways. It can help a site that does not enjoy enough visibility to gain exposure. Because search engine optimization is such an amazing form of online marketing many people want to take short cuts. This may sound like a good idea but certainly has detrimental effects.

Black hat SEO is a shortcut that many website owners use to speed up the effects of search engine optimisation. It has often been said that although black hat SEO does ensure faster results, it should only be employed if you are willing to commit online suicide. The use of black hat SEO could easily have your website restricted or penalised by popular search engines such as Google or Yahoo.

Which black hat tricks are applied to an SEO campaign?

Black hat SEO is an unethical and incorrect way of applying search engine optimisation. Your chance of achieving good ranking and more traffic is increased through deceptive means.

There are different black hat tricks that a website owner can employ to reach the top much quicker. These include making use of text that is the same colour as the background of a site to lure in traffic. This hidden text is not visible to users but is detected by search engines.

Another black hat trick is adding doorway pages. These back links mislead users to a website that they had no intention of visiting.

Keyword stuffing is another form of black hat SEO.
