On page optimisation is one aspect of SEO that you have direct and complete control over. Following keyword research to identify the best keywords for each of your pages, you should proceed to optimise every aspect of a page. That doesn't mean cramming the keywords in at every given opportunity but it does include the provision of good quality, keyword optimised content pages. The better the quality of the content the more likely that your visitors will become sales and the more likely you will generate organic links from other websites.

Good quality SEO content should not only include your main keywords but also variations and different inflexions. This includes the addition of semantically or topically related keywords because these are highly valued by search engines looking for the best pages to rank highly. Writing natural website content is the process most desired by search engines but it certainly doesn't hurt to include your keywords throughout the content as you write it.

High quality SEO content not only helps to generate visitors in the first place but it can help to convert those visitors into sales. SEO is a desirable method of generating traffic but it is essentially a means to an end, with the end being the sale of a product or service, or the performance of any other desired action on the pages of your website. Search engines like to see good quality SEO content and will reward you with improved rankings and more targeted traffic for your site.
