Building links is a long term project that is an essential part of an SEO campaign. Good quality links may prove difficult to come by, especially when you've been using the same techniques to acquire your SEO links for a period of time. By using article marketing you can continue to build links following the initial effort of writing a compelling article and submitting it to the article directories.

Article marketing requires the writing of good articles on a regular basis. These articles include a resource paragraph or about the author paragraph at the foot of the article that also includes one or two links to your website. Once submitted to the article directories, those articles can then be read and published by other website owners on their own site. This helps the publisher with their own SEO efforts because it provides a source of relevant, quality content.

By using article marketing as a form of SEO link building you have a certain degree of control over the links that are published. You will certainly know the content of the page where your link is published because you wrote it and, what's more, you can choose your own SEO keywords to use in the anchor text.

Publishers must include the links you use when they publish an article that you have written. Some debate exists over the efficacy of writing and submitting a single article to hundreds of different directories but writing regularly and submitting to a select choice of SEO friendly directories can for the basis of a good SEO link building campaign.
