Pavarotti's Death Proves the Importance of Brand Awareness Advertising

Tragic news about Pavarotti. I am sure everyone will agree. I am sure that a lot of people are currently saying 'terrible news about Pavarotti, what a fantastic singer'. All the latest press coverage and shows that highlight his career make you realise what a great singer he was, however if you had have asked me a year ago what I thought of Pavarotti I wouldn’t be so enthusiastic about the singer.

The point is, the recent events have given Pavarotti a whole new lease of awareness which I am confident in saying that, even though he is dead, will lead to increased sales in Pavarotti merchandise. For example, it would be interesting to compare the Google search volumes for ‘Pavarotti CD’ for August compared with September 07, I am sure that September will be far higher!

In addition to this, Pavarotti’s Greatest hits has been on sale for a long time. I am sure that after the recent events and the recent Pavarotti brand awareness, that sales of Pavarotti’s Greatest hits will more than double from recent months.

Therefore, as a seller of Pavarotti merchandise, now would be the best time to launch a PPC campaign to capture all this search traffic. It also shows the importance of brand awareness on overall sales.

The same thing happens with other celebrities; they get so much press coverage for the slightest action which gives them so much brand awareness. Would Paris Hilton really be able to make the money from the products that she has created from not being in the public eye all the time? I am not passing comment, but it makes you realise the importance of brand awareness on sales.

Therefore, successful advertisers need to do brand advertising, be it television, radio, newspaper, or online. As an internet agency the more successful of brand awareness advertising is contextual rich media advertising which leads to more effectiveness of advertising spend.
