PPC will make Newspapers extinct by 2020

Print Media has been one of the biggest hit advertising mediums since the start of PPC. Advertisers have realised that they can get far bigger results, transparent as well, if they advertise through PPC. Track your results…see exactly what you paid for…? Yeah Baby! That is the kind of advertising I am talking about! Can you achieve that with Newspaper advertising? Not likely.

A recent report by Sky News shows that Newspaper advertising revenues in the US are plummeting. The New York Times announced 16% fall in revenues for June plus an 12% fall in May. Print advertising as a whole has fallen year on year for the last 8 years, this year to date it is 14% down.

By why such a fall? Well, I have already expressed why in my opening paragraph.

Not only Pay Per Click, but Online Marketing as a whole is driving interest, and congregating more people. The reach of internet is far greater and more specific than traditional newspapers.

My prediction – Newspapers will be extinct as we know them today, by 2020.
