Are You Using Pay Per Click Banners Effectively?
Filed under: Content / Search Advertising by Alan @ 9:52 am
Pay per click (PPC) is a form of marketing on the Internet that utilises search engines and other advertising networks to show their advertisements. It works by bidding on certain keywords or key phrases that the target market will use when searching for a product or service.
The adverts will then be shown and if the viewer click on the advert, the advertiser will then be charged. Since plain words may not be the best advertising tool, banners are made in order to grab the viewer's attention.
Optimizing your PPC banner
When you are using a banner, apart from driving traffic to your website, it is also used as an opportunity to show off your brand by letting the viewers know that you are there. Thus, it is important to bear in mind the colour scheme and use of your business's logo. The content of the banner must also be relevant to your business.
It is one thing to lure them to your website but another if they do not buy from you considering that you are paying for the traffic. You may try a variety of banners to draw attention but ensure that the style is consistent so that the viewers know that it is your business. By doing this you are also creating brand awareness. A good PPC agency has years of experience in creating effective PPC ads for their clients, maximising the return on investment.
Generally it is recommended to not make use of animated banners because it can irritate the internet user, however this does depend on how you make use of the animation. If you decide to use animated banners try to opt for flash banners rather than gif banners for a more professional look.
