Online Press Release (PR)
Using an article as a template for a press release

If you have trouble coming up with a winning press release format, a good idea is to use an article that was previously written and convert it into a press release. Take a good article with newsworthiness, look at its title and then make the headline catchier to start off with. Summarise the article and compact it into a few sentences that makes the topic seem very important to be placed under the title. Your lead sentence of the actual press release should basically be another summary to reinforce the previous summary.
The body of the press release
Your first paragraph should highlight the importance of the topic, but always keep in mind that if you are using content that was previously published on your blog or your website, you must be aware of duplication filters. You do not want it flagged for being duplication. The new version has to be as different as possible. It is not difficult to change wording and sentence structure to achieve this.
The last part of all press releases always has an ‘about the author’ part and this is where you include your website so that potential customers can come and have a look. The last thing your press release must have is a clear media contact telephone number and email address so that you can be contacted should any problems arise concerning your press release.
Following these basic steps allows you to easily convert a previously written and/or published article into a press release with impact.
