One of the most common concerns of any website or individual embarking upon an online press release writing and submission campaign is whether or not they have the content to write a good press release. While it might not always be immediately obvious, there are usually various sources of good pieces for a press release especially if you haven't written one before.

News related to your own company can make good press release content although not just any old piece of news. Change of directors, a new website, an additional product range, or news of this nature will often be accepted by distribution services and subsequently used by other sites in the publication of their pages. Also, new partnerships with other companies make for a superb press release opportunity along with share prices and company performance data.

Conduct some research into a topic related to your industry. This is actually one of the most powerful methods of generating press release content and allows you to use the name of your website or organisation throughout the piece without it being considered too sales oriented. There's a fine line between press release and direct marketing and you have to avoid crossing it.

Look at general news stories and news stories within your industry and tie them in with services or products that you offer. This again can help promotion efforts, especially with regards to the related products and you will be able to name your product and your business in a couple of places within the piece, possibly even in the title.
