Press releases are a great way to get some good publicity for your company or business. They are also great marketing tools in the fact that they get your name out there and throw you into the public eye. The internet has revolutionised just about every aspect of our lives these days and press releases are no exception. Online press releases are one of your most powerful marketing tools available.

The problem most people face when writing online press releases is that they go about it all wrong. They seem to think that you can write an offline press release and it will be just as much of a hit online. Unfortunately that is not so. Online press releases have their own set of game rules that apply.

Playing by the rules

Writing the best online press release comes from playing by the rules to the letter. Offline press releases don’t know a single thing about SEO efforts. Online press releases make use of basic Search Engine Optimisation strategies wherever possible. This does not mean that you should flood your press release with SEO tactics, but putting them in strategically really helps.

SEO tactics will ensure that your article goes as close to the top of the search rankings as possible. Blatant marketing and promotion of your company is out of the question. No SEO tactics can save your press release if you kill it with obvious advertising.

Readers want news not advertisements. Lastly, to reach as wide an audience as possible submit your online press releases to more than one online media centre. Follow those three steps and you have a recipe for online press release success.
